After bringing to you live the global unveiling of the New Honda City 2014 yesterday via a live updates , official release and live webcast channel, we also put together all the details on the new car to help you understand it better. Today, armed with some fresh (and better quality) images of the car, we have a whole bunch of new details to share with you. At the same time, the new images, capturing the new 2014 City in finer detail and from more angles would help you appreciate and understand its design, space and features better.
While you can always have a look at our detailed previous report on all the features and specs of the new City by clicking here, in this post, we are trying to bring to your notice the details which may have gone unnoticed in our previous story. Here goes…
175/65 R15 tyres are really skinny for a car this class. Honda is focusing more on fuel efficiency and not on optimal road-holding with those undersized MRF ZVTVs. The outgoing City had tyre size as one of its issues. Unfortunately, the problem persists even with the new model
The interior is significantly better than the previous version. The quality of plastic has gone up, and equipment levels are much higher too.
Honda Steering wheels are always a pleasure to hold, and this one is no exception. This opne is an EPS, and Honda claims that this one is ‘sturdier’ for a better drive feel. Notice the mesh finish on the spoke ala Civic
The cabin space is much more than on the outgoing car. While the overall length of the car has not increased, the improved leg space is courtesy the extended legroom which has gone up by 50mm
Rear AC vents have been introduced in the car. More than a luxury its becoming the norm. Even hatchbacks have it these days
The City boasts as many as four power sockets, so that none of the occupants fight to charge their electronic gadgets.
Start/stop button with proximity sensing key is another new feature on the City
Large, five inch multi-function screen on the center console handles the audio control and air-conditioner
Large, horizontally laid out tail lamps highlight the width of car. The chrome slat adds to the premium appeal
Chrome handles would be available only on top spec models in our opinion
Shark fin antenna
