Nine Interesting Facts About The Upcoming TVS Apache RR310

The new TVS Apache RR310 will be launched on December 6, 2017 and we’ll be taking the motorcycle out for a spin at a racetrack somewhere in South India. Before we head out to ride the new TVS Apache RR310 for a detailed text and video review, here are some interesting facts about the upcoming motorcycle.

TVS Apache RR310 Specifications

TVS and BMW Motorrad joined hands for the development of a new entry level performance motorcycle, the G 310 R which will be sold under the BMW brand. The Apache RR310 will also benefit from the TVS-BMW collaboration. Mechanically, as you would’ve read in our previous reports, the 310 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled engine is based on the BMW G310R’s motor, where it is rated at 34 bhp and 28 Nm. The performance numbers on the Apache RR310 are yet unknown but they’re likely to be in the same range.

TVS Apache RR310 Features

The new TVS Apache RR310 will be the flagship product and will feature a list of premium hardware including dual projector headlights with LED pilot lamps, LED blinkers, LED tail light, upside down front forks, and a full-digital instrument console.

As seen in the spy images, the vertically designed instrument cluster features a speedometer, odometer, clock, fuel gauge, engine temperature indicator, side stand indicator, gear position indicator and a vertical tachometer. The model also receives a white backlight as seen in Apache RTR 200 4V.

TVS Apache RR310 Design

The motorcycle features an all new, muscular design and a full fairing. It comes with a step-up split seat and going by the previous spy images, it appears to be a well cushioned. The tall windscreen which should offer good protection from the wind at high speeds. Following the windscreen is the vertically designed instrument console with gear-shift indicator.

The switchgear quality, as seen in the spy images, look at par, if not better than its rivals. Headlight switch has been removed as the motorcycle, like all BS-IV compliant two-wheelers, will feature all-time running head lamps. The chiseled fuel tank does not get the Apache RTR200 style asymmetrically mounted filler cap. Instead, it feature a centrally placed flush-mount tank lid.

TVS Apache RR310 Variants

With the upcoming safety norms, ABS will come as standard and thus the new Apache RR310 will most likely be available in a single variant.

TVS Apache RR310 Price

The new Apache RR310 will compete against the likes of Bajaj Dominar 400 and the likes so expect the prices to hover around 1.3-1.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

TVS Apache RR310 Top Speed

We’ll soon test the motorcycle but till then, we cannot point at the exact number. However, the motorcycle was seen racing against the Bajaj Dominar 400 in a spy video and thus we expect that the new Apache RR310 can clock speeds over 150 kmph.

Rivals

As aforementioned, the motorcycle will compete against the likes of Bajaj Dominar 400, Yamaha Fazer 250 and KTM RC200.

Ergonomics

The motorcycle uses a clip-on handlebar to steer. However, the riding stance, as reported previously, will not be too aggressive and thus it should also prove to be a good companion for those long weekend rides.

Update: TVS has released the teaser video of the upcoming new TVS Apache RR310 which reveals the gloss-finished dual tone paint job, Bi-LED headlights, and LED tail light. The number 35 on the rear panel signifies 35 years of TVS Racing heritage. Check out the video below:
