[SPIED] Mahinda Centuro With Disc Brakes

In July last year, Mahindra launched the 110 cc commuter bike– Centuro. In January this year, the company launched a new variant christened as the Mahindra Centuro N1. (CLICK HERE TO READ OUR EARLIER REPORT ON THE SAME).

At the Auto Expo 2014 this year, Mahindra had showcased the Centuro with disc brakes. Now, the bike has been caught testing which hints the Centuro equipped with disc brakes will be launched soon.

The Mahindra Centuro equipped with disc brakes will be called as the O1-D. Powering the Mahindra Centuro O1-D will be the same MCI-5 four stroke air cooled single cylinder 106cc engine that powers the standard Centuro. Max power output is rated at 8.5 hp and has a peak torque figure of 8.5 Nm. The engine comes connected to a four speed manual gearbox.

The Centuro is equipped with many unique features. The Centuro gets a car like key fob that benefits from an incorporated remote control and LED torch. The Centuro is also equipped with “first in its class” features such as Find Me Lamps, Guide Me Home Lamps, an engine immobilizer, LED pilot lamps and a white backlit semi-digital speedometer console.

Mahindra claims a 0-60 kmph timing of 8.85 seconds for the Centuro. The ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of the bike is 85.4 kmpl. After the N1 variant launched this year, the O1-D will be the third variant of the Mahindra Centuro. The new variant is expected to be priced at around INR 48,000.
