Rumour Mill: 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis Facelift India Launch On March 15

Toyota India brought in a number of refreshed products last year such as the Platinum Etios and Etios Liva facelift as well as the new Innova Crysta and the Fortuner. The Japanese automobile manufacturer also plans to launch its luxury brand, Lexus in India soon.

While we wait for the Lexus marquee to officially make its debut in India, reports suggest that the launch of the next upcoming product from Toyota is not far away. According to reports, Toyota India will launch the Corolla Altis facelift in India on March 15, 2017. Toyota India has not made any official announcement as yet although bookings for the model have reportedly opened at dealerships across the country.

For the model year 2017, The Corolla Altis gets a few cosmetic updates while the engine options will remain unchanged. Visually, the silhouette of the Corolla Altis Facelift will remain the same although a few minor tweaks to the model will include a new bumper that houses a new grille with a single chrome strip. This chrome strip will be flanked by new bi-beam LED headlamps with integrated DRLs on either side. At the rear, the sedan will feature LED tail lights separated by a sleek chrome strip.

Inside, the 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis Facelift is equipped with a 7 inch touchscreen Toyota Touch 2 infotainment system with navigation, 4.7 inch MID display in the instrument cluster, leather upholstery, keyless entry, cruise control, automatic headlamps and a heated steering wheel. Safety features on the model include Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), Pre-Collision System (PCS) and a marking control system.

Powering the 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis Facelift would be the same 1.8-litre petrol engine and a 1.4-litre diesel engine carried forward from the outgoing model. Previous reports suggested that Toyota India could also introduce a hybrid variant of the Corolla Altis facelift later during the product’s life-cycle.
