New 2018 Hyundai Santro Spied Testing In India

A new spy image shared on the web reveals an upcoming hatchback from Hyundai. The model is said to be the successor to the i10 which was discontinued earlier this year. It is believed that the model is likely to be christened as the new Santro and could arrive in 2018.

As seen in the spy image, the test-mule does not reveal any details regarding the design, courtesy of a heavy camouflage. What can be denoted from the image though, is the tall boy (read tall roof) design. The i10 successor will be slotted above the Eon and below the Grand i10 for the company’s product portfolio in India. Once launched, the model will rival the likes of the Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio.

Just as other models from the Korean manufacturer, one can expect the 2018 Hyundai Santro to come loaded with features. Details regarding the engine specifications remain scarce at the moment although Hyundai could power this upcoming hatchback with a 1.0-litre Kappa petrol engine while an 800cc motor could also be offered. More details are likely to be revealed at the 2018 Auto Expo. Stay tuned for updates.
