Maruti Suzuki India recently reduced the prices of the Ciaz, courtesy the excise duty reduction. Now, the automobile manufacturer has announced a recall for the S-Cross citing a potential problem with the brakes. The company has announced a service campaign to check a suspected fault resulting in the seepage in the brake caliper.

It is said that 20,427 units of the compact SUV manufactured between April 20th 2015 and February 12th 2016 have been recalled. The recall affects both the 1.3 litre and the 1.6 litre mills. Owners of the vehicles manufactured during the aforementioned period have been requested to contact the respective NEXA dealers for the same. The procedure will be done free of cost.
The company launched the S-Cross early in August last year through its premium dealership network ‘NEXA’. The model didn’t match the sales as expected by the company which saw the prices of the compact SUV drop by Rs. 2 lakh and even Rs. 5.5 lakh depending upon the dealership.

Maruti Suzuki has been trying to woo customers through various methods such as launching a special edition of a model and working on a facelift as well. Earlier reports suggest that the model is also likely to receive the 1.0 litre booosterjet petrol engine. Currently, the S-cross comes with a price tag starting at Rs. 8,03,041 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and rivals models such as the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Duster.
