There have been some reports which state that the Maruti Ciaz India launch would happen in festive season this year and if these reports are to be believed, Maruti Suzuki India, the nation’s largest selling car maker, has even suspended the production of the Maruti Suzuki SX4, the car that will be replaced by the Maruti Ciaz in India. The   Maruti Ciaz will be sold as the Suzuki Alivio in China. The Alivio concept was showcased at the recently conducted was showcased at the Beijing Auto Show (Auto China). The Ciaz made its India debut at the Delhi  Auto Expo 2014 earlier this year.

It is being said that the Ciaz will offer best in class rear seat comfort, much of which will be due to the best in class rear legroom the Ciaz will boast of. The Maruti Ciaz is 4545 mm long and this makes the upcoming car considerably longer than the current gen Honda City. Talking about the car’s rear seat comfort, Hisanori Matsushima, chief designer of the Ciaz concept, has previously said, “The back seat will have ample space to relax and Suzuki wants customers to enjoy its large internal size”. As per a recent report, the makers of the Ciaz have opted for rigid mounting of the rearsuspension components of Ciaz, which has resulted into usage of softer springs for a comfier ride.

The India spec Ciaz will go on sale with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol model will be powered by a 1.5 litre DOHC four cylinder petrol engine, which will come mated to a 6 speed automatic gearbox. The diesel engine variant will be powered by the 1.3 litre Multijet oil burner form the SX4.
