Honda introduced the 2016 Civic for the Thailand market in March 2016. Available with a price tag of 869,000 baht (approx. INR 16.6 lakh), the model comes with 1.5 litre VTEC Turbo and a 1.8 litre i-VTEC petrol engines. Now, the company has gone ahead and launched a sportier variant of the sedan for the Philippines market called the Honda Civic Modulo.
Available in three trims, 1.8 E CVT Modulo, RS Turbo Modulo and RS Turbo Modulo Sport, the model can be distinguished from the regular Civic models with the help of the Modulo accessories for the interior as well as the exterior. At the heart of the model are the same engines as seen on the current generation model.
For the exterior, the Civic Modulo receives bumper extensions upfront, side skirts on either side, rear bumper extensions, exhaust finishers (single pair for the RS Turbo Modulo and RS Turbo Modulo Sport variants) and the Modulo badging. The top of the line model comes equipped with 17 inch wheels in a shade of matte black. The interiors receive only benefit from a side step garnish.

Powering the Modulo range would be the existing 1.8 litre SOHC i-VTEC and 1.5-litre DOHC VTEC Turbo petrol engines. The latter is tuned to produce 70 Bhp and 220 Nm of torque while the former produces 139 Bhp 174 Nm of torque. Both the motors will send power to the front wheels via a CVT.
