Honda 2Wheelers had a action packed 2017. The two-wheeler brand added products such as the Africa Twin adventure tourer, new 2018 CBR650F, Cliq and Grazia scooters among other in the Indian market. But what should we expect to see from Honda 2Wheelers in 2018? Here’s a list of upcoming Honda 2Wheeler products heading to the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi.
Honda Rebel 300/500
mm single discHonda Motorcycles revealed the new 2017 editions of the Rebel series for the U.S. market at the Long Beach Motorcycle Show. The 300cc version of the retro-styled motorcycle is likely to reach the Indian shores at the 2018 Auto Expo and compete against the existing crop of sub-500cc two-wheelers.
The Rebel 300 is built around a new Trellis frame, and share a majority of components such as 16 inch wheels, ABS (optional), 41 mm telescopic forks up-front, twin shock setup at the rear, single 296 mm disc at the front and 246 mm disc at the rear with the 500cc variant. Internationally, Honda also offers customization options for the Rebel 300 in the form of accessories like a windscreen, saddlebags and a carrier rack. We may see these optional accessories available in the Indian market too.
Powered by a 286cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder, 4-stroke engine, the Honda Rebel 300 delivers 27.3 PS of power and 27 Nm of torque.
Various rumours and reports point towards an ex-showroom price of between INR 2.2 – 2.5 lakh for the cruiser which is fairly competitive if you look at the overall package and Honda’s renowned build quality.
New 2018 Honda Gold Wing
The 2018 version of the most luxurious Honda on two-wheels will also be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo. The new Gold Wing, also known as the Honda GL1800, sheds up to 48 kgs when compared to the previous generation model and is available in three variants :
- Standard Gold Wing
- Gold Wing Tour
- Gold Wing Tour with DCT and airbag
As reported earlier, the bookings for the motorcycle have already commenced in the Indian market. The new Honda Gold Wing now comes equipped with all LED lighting. The new face of the 2018 Honda Gold Wing is forward-slanting and is combined with the compact fairing proportions. Gone is the large windscreen, and in its place a smaller electric screen, operated from the left handlebar. The new Gold Wing’s die-cast aluminium twin beam frame is designed to package the engine in a tighter space, 40 mm further forward.

Honda has re-tuned the 1,833cc engine for the 2018 Gold Wing. The horizontally opposed flat six engine now features four valves per cylinder instead of than two, is more compact in size and weighs 6.2 kgs lighter over is predecessor. Peak power of 125 bhp arrives at 5,500 rpm while the peak torque of 170 Nm is delivered at 4,500 rpm.
Honda CBR300R
The CBR250R has been discontinued from the Indian market and while the wait has been long, we may finally see the new CBR300R in the Indian market at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Honda CBR300R features a dual headlight and a digital-analogue instrument console. The motorcycle rides on conventional telescopic forks upfront and a adjustable monoshock at the rear.
Powering the Honda CBR300R is a 286cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, four stroke engine that is capable of producing a power output of 30.4 bhp at 8500 rpm and 27.1 Nm of torque at 7250 rpm. This engine sends power to the rear wheel via a six speed transmission. Stoppinh power is provided by a 296mm single disc upfront and 220 mm single disc at the rear. Expect the ex-showroom prices to hover between INR 2-2.25 lakh.
Apart from these aforementioned motorcycles, we may see Honda 2Wheeler’s complete portfolio being showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Similar to 2016, we may also see Honda’s MotoGP motorcycle at the event too.
