Auto Expo 2018: BMW Motorrad To Showcase F850 GS, F750 GS, G310 GS, And G310 R

BMW Motorrad’s stand at the 2018 Auto Expo will feature some of the most anticipated products such as the the G310 duo and the recently unveiled middleweight adventure series. While we’re yet to hear any official details about the upcoming BMW Motorrad products at the 2018 Auto Expo, here’s what we think would make it the biannual event.

BMW F850 GS and F750 GS

The all-new BMW F 750 GS and F 850 GS motorcycles, which were unveiled at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show, are reportedly heading to India.

Both the motorcycles will arrive via the CBU route and will compete against the new Triumph Tiger 800 range. We expect the prices for the BMW F 750 GS to hover around INR 11 lakh-12 lakh while the F 850 GS may arrive in the INR 12 lakh-13 lakh range.

Powering both motorcycles is a new 853 cc twin-cylinder in-line engine with two counterbalance shafts and a firing interval of 270/450 degrees. Power output for the F 750 GS is rated at 77 hp at 7500 rpm, while for the new F 850 GS, the motor pushes out 95 hp at 8250 rpm.

BMW G310 GS And G310 R

We’ve been waiting for the G310 duo for quite some time and we expect to see these BMW Motorrad’s entry-level products at the 2018 Auto Expo. The G310 GS is manufactured, along with the BMW G 310 R at TVS Motors’ plant in India which should help BMW to price the product competitively.

The G 310 R is the first sub-500cc roadster from BMW Motorrad. The new G 310 R has been built from ground up and is said to represent everything BMW Motorrad stands for – innovation, quality and many years of carefree partnership with its owner. The new G 310 R draws its design inspiration from the BMW Motorrad family such as the litre-class S 1000 R. The launch of the motorcycle was delayed as the Company was working on ‘Adequate Retail Infrastructure’.

The G 310 GS is built around the same tubular steel frame as the R-model. Just like the G 310 R, the G 310 GS draws design cues from its bigger siblings, in this case the GS series. The baby GS also gets ABS, a multi-function instrument cluster, USD front forks and an aluminium swing-arm.

Both motorcycles draw power from the same 313 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that tuned to deliver power and torque outputs of 34 hp at 9,500 rpm and 28Nm at 7500 rpm respectively.

Other Products

Apart from the new middleweight adventure series and the G310 duo, we expect the two-wheeler arm of the German car maker to showcase its performance range of motorcycles such as the S1000 RR, S1000 R, S1000 XR, R1200 GS, R nineT Racer and the K1600 B to name a few.

The 2018 Auto Expo is just around the corner and while many manufacturers have decided to stay away from the motoring event, we hope to see many interesting products heading to India. Stay tuned.
