Empty city streets, the warmth of sodium street lights and blinking amber traffic signals. Add a motorcycle to this picture and there’ll be fireworks. And fireworks do fly in Royal Enfield’s commercial for their new 650cc twin cylinder bikes. Called “A Ton Of Fun”, this advert captures the magic of midnight motorcycling, once the city tucks itself into bed. With a great tune added, the visuals of motorcycles making it merry across an urban landscape do light up those fireworks in a motorcyclist’s head. Watch it for yourself.
Another one, featuring the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, kicks Monday mornings in the right place. Called “Easy Got Back”, this commercial too captures the essence of fun, carefree and simple motorcycling. With some great visuals of what looks like the Pacific highway thrown in, along with a fantastic sounding audio track, this AV features the rebels among us. Those who travel in the opposite direction of a world which is constantly walking the same path everyday, with a coffee mug in their hands.
To be launched in India this month, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650, will go on to become the country’s first modern-day, twin-cylinder motorcycles. From what we hear, they will be priced to entice and we expect a long queue for these two once launched officially. Powered by RE’s new 650cc parallel twin motor, under the fuel tank of both bikes, it develops 47bhp of power @7,100 rpm and 52Nm of torque @5,200 rpm, mated to a six-speed transmission.
