Regulars here would remember that only days ago, we reported that the Verna sedan is in the process of getting a mild visual makeover for the Chinese car market (Click here for our earlier report). Now, another spy pic of the upcoming model has surfaced on the cyber space and thanks to this new image, we now have a better idea of what the refreshed car would be like.
As we told you earlier, the Verna on sale in China has a front end styling that is not exactly similar to that of the India spec model. However, given the fact that the Verna might soon be bestowed with some botox for our market too, we believe that the upcoming India spec Verna facelift could be given a somewhat similar treatment.
The upcoming China spec Hyundai Verna facelift boasts of a set of new headlights, which contain a projector unit each, a new front grille, Elantra-like foglamp enclosures and a revised bumper. Back at the rear end, the car gets a new set of bumper reflectors and revised taillamps.
Thanks to all these updates, the Verna, in our opinion, looks a considerably more matured and might just be able to attract a handful of more buyers to Hyundai dealerships in China every month.
As we said earlier, Hyundai Motor India Ltd has so far shown no signs of bestowing the Verna with a similar facelift for our market. However, thanks to the fact that the India spec Verna is about to face heat from some fresher competition (read- Honda City, Fiat Linea facelift and the new Maruti SX4 (YL1) sedan), we won’t be too surprised if Hyundai India decides to bring a similar facelift to our shores too.
