TVS Apache RR310 Outsells KTM RC390, Waiting Period Increases To Six Months

TVS Motor Company recently announced a price hike for its flagship product, the Apache RR310. The price hike resulted in the fully faired motorcycle becoming dearer by at least INR 8000 depending upon the region from where you buy the product. Now, according to a new sales report, the Apache RR310 has outsold the KTM RC390 in the month of March.

According to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), TVS sold 983 units of the Apache RR310 while the KTM registered sales of just 716 units, with the RC390 and Duke 390 combined. This news also comes at a time when TVS sells the Apache RR310 through just 51 dealerships across the country.

Along with the sales records, the waiting period of the TVS Apache RR310 too has seen a rise. Dealers across the country are quoting various waiting timelines, with the maximum waiting period going north to a long wait of six months. A few dealers are also ready to give delivery of the RR310 in a mere 15 days. All the aforementioned delivery timelines vary and depend on the region the motorcycle is bought from as well as the choice of colour chosen by the customer. According to dealers, the demand for the Racing Red variant is higher than that of the Racing Black (matte black) variant.

Powering the TVS Apache RR310 is a 312cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder engine that is capable of producing a maximum power output of 34 hp while the peak torque is rated at 28 Nm. Speeds of 0-60 kmph can be attained in 2.93 seconds while the 100 kmph mark comes up in 7.17 seconds. A few highlights of the model include, Bi-LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail light, LED turn indicators, vertically inclined fully digital instrument cluster, Michelin Street Sport tyres and dual channel ABS. Prices for the TVS Apache RR310 now start at INR 2.13 lakh (ex-showroom).
