While the Hosur based South Indian bike maker TVS earlier told us that it wishes to remain focused on the commuter end of the market, it today announced during the TVS Star City Plus launch  event that the highly awaited TVS Apache New Model is in the making and the TVS Apache New Model launch will happen in the last quarter of this year. The launch of the updated Apache is in line with the bike maker’s plans of launching a new product in every quarter. This information on the updated Apache’s launch was provided by Venu Srinivasan, Chairman, TVS Group.

Speculations are abounding that Vinay Harne, head of New Product Development for TVS, has said that the TVS Apache New Model will feature some of the design cues that were seen on the Draken concept, which was showcased earlier this year at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014.

It may be noted that the TVS Apache is among the most loved bike brands in the Indian performance bike market today. The TVS Apache brand of bikes, which have made quite a name for itself for the rev happy engines and track-honed handling characteristics, has been doing fairly well on the sales charts, so much that it has managed to give quite a few sleepless nights to the boffins at rival bike manufacturers. However, thanks to the advent of newer and more serious competition (such as the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS), the Apache series of bikes have suddenly started looking a bit dated. It will now be interesting to see if the TVS Apache new model launch would inject the much needed freshness into the aging brand and revive its great sales performance.

    Yathart,

I just wanted to know, I have seen a lot of pictures and videos of pulsars and ktm’s before they are launched(spy shots). But no such has been in the case of TVS Apache. Can you give me the reason for this?
