The Tata Punch has been one of those cars people see every day and quietly trust. It shows up in school runs, office parking lots, weekend trips and small adventures. Now, Tata Motors is ready to give it a fresh update, with the Punch facelift set to be launched in India tomorrow.
Dealerships across the country have already begun to receive the updated model and the changes are easily visible. Tata has left the Punch looking the same but given it just enough new flavors to make it feel fresh again.

On the outside, the Punch facelift gets revised front and rear bumpers along with silver-finished skid plates. There is a new design of the grille, updated lighting elements and a fresh set of alloy wheels. Tata has also updated the colour palette and the facelift will be available in six colours. The overall look is still tough and upright, but now has a more modern feel.

Inside the cabin, the changes are more apparent. The cabin now receives a larger touchscreen and a new seven-inch digital instrument cluster. Feature additions include a 360-degree camera, electric sunroof, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, rear wiper and washer, auto-dimming IRVM, connected car tech via iRA, and a Type-C charging port.

Under the hood, the Punch facelift is expected to get a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, the same unit seen on the Nexon, though its final output figures and gearbox options are not yet confirmed. The current 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 88hp is likely to remain with five speed manual and AMT gearbox options. Tata is also expected to retain the 73hp petrol CNG coupled with a five-speed manual. The facelift will be offered in six variants.
Key things to know

When launched, the Punch facelift will compete with the Citroen C3 and Hyundai Exter. With more features, new engines and familiar toughness, the updated Punch looks all set to continue its strong run on Indian roads.
