Jaguar India showcased a slew of models at the 2016 Auto Expo held in Greater Noida earlier this year. The Tata Motors owned British marquee had revealed that they would launch three new products – the all new XE, all new F-Pace and the 2016 XF. While the Jaguar XE was launched during the biennial event itself, the company said it would launch the rest of the models in the current year. Now, if reports are to be believed, Jaguar is all set to launch the 2016 XF in India during the second half of August. This means that the new XF should see a launch within the next 20 days.

Based on a new platform, the 2016 XF witnesses a weight reduction of 190 kg over the outgoing model taking the new figure to 1687 kg, courtesy the extensive use of aluminium. The 2016 XF is further stretched and now measures 5067 mm in length while wheelbase has also increased by 51 mm taking the new measurement to 2960 mm.
On the outside, the model receives all-new styling which includes new bumpers, new LED headlamps with DRLs, a revised front grille, LED tail lights, an integrated lip spoiler, dual exhausts and new alloy wheels. Moving on to the interiors, the 2016 XF’s highlights, apart from all the leather and wood, is a 10.2 inch InControl Touch Pro system with 10 GB of storage onboard as well as a steering wheel inspired from the XJ.

In India, the 2016 Jaguar XF will initially be available with a diesel engine. This 2.0 litre diesel engine, sourced from Jaguar’s new Ingenium family, is capable of producing 177 hp at 4000 rpm while the peak torque of 430 Nm comes up at 1750-2500 rpm. This motor is mated to an eight speed ZF automatic transmission. A petrol variant of the model is likely to be introduced later in its lifecycle.
