We’ve been reporting in detail about the new Porsche Macan SUV, which is India bound and could be here much before what is being anticipated. Check out our story on Porsche Macan India launch here. At the time of unveiling, the Porsche Macan debuted with a Macan S, a Macan S Diesel and a Macan Turbo engine , all powered by turbocharged V6 engines. Porsche has now revealed the entry level 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine for the Macan.
This 1,984 cc four-cylinder engine has a max power of 237 hp between 5,000 and 6,800 rpm and a peak torque of 350 Nm from 1,500 to 4,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a PDK dual-clutch transmission and the car hits 100 kmph from standstill in 6.9 seconds. Other than the powertrain change, the car also gets a minor visual change that helps differentiating between the base and S models. While the Macan Turbo and S has quad tail pipes setup, the Macan gets dual tail pipes. Quite obviously, the Macan base model is set to become one of the most affordable ways to enter the Porsche club.
Some features of the Porsche Macan 2.0 base variant include- 18-inch wheels, an automatic rear tailgate, multifunction steering with paddle shifters, dual-zone climate control, comfort seats with Alcantara centre, and a black interior. Optional extras for this car include- 21 inches wheels, PASM air suspension, panoramic roof, power steering Plus, cruise control, and front and rear ParkAssist.
