It’s confirmed. Tata Motors will launch the Tigor compact sedan in India on March 29, 2017. As we had reported earlier, the bookings for the upcoming vehicle had commenced on March 20, 2017 at INR 5,000.
The upcoming compact sedan is based on the Tiago and will feature the front fascia of the hatchback while the rear will get a new design with the inclusion of an extended boot space. The Tigor is the third product embodying the car maker’s Impact Design philosophy. The stance of the vehicle is enhanced by design elements including the three-dimensional headlamps with a smoked lens, sporty black bezel, sharp tail lamps and the prominent humanity line excites and accentuates the sportiness of the Tigor.
The interior of the Tata Tigor too, will be similar to that of the Tiago, apart from the inclusion of a touchscreen infotainment system. The interior architecture of the car is designed with a dual-tone cockpit, patterned seats with bolsters, a premium knitted roof liner, along with customizable air vents.
While Tata Motors has remained tight-lipped about the mechanical details, the Tigor is expected to receive the same 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.05-litre diesel engine that is seen on the Tiago. Transmission options will include a five speed manual transmission as standard while an AMT gearbox could be offered as an option.
