Volvo Auto India launched the new S90 premium sedan for a price tag of Rs. 53.5 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The S90 replaces the outgoing generation of the S80 that was discontinued earlier this year. Based on the Concept Coupe, the S90 features a chrome finished grille flanked by the full-LED Thor’s hammer headlights. The sides of the car are said to have an elongated passenger cabin to cue open spaces and while the shoulder-line treatment resembles a luxury yacht. The rear has a new tail lamp cluster and the Volvo spread out wordmark for the car. The Inscription variant comes with chrome finish exterior package.

On the inside, the S90 features a leather dashboard with a natural-finish walnut wood encased in a single piece chrome element on the front console. The perforated Nappa leather seats enable a heating and cooling feature. Both front seats have lumbar support and power adjustable seat extenders. A few other features include four zone air-conditioning, a nine inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, 19 speaker Bower and Wilkins surround sound system, sunroof, a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, Heads-Up Display (HUD), power operated tail-gate and independent air-suspension for the rear wheels.
The S90 is equipped with a Euro 6 compliant two litre inline four turbocharged diesel engine that delivers 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. This motor sends power to the wheels via an eight speed automatic transmission. Also on offer will be three driving modes – Eco, Comfort and Dynamic.

Safety features on the all new S90 sedan include lane keeping aid, run off-road protection, emergency brake assist, seat-belt pre-tensioners for all seats, child booster cushion, whiplash protection, rear parking camera, park pilot assist and side impact protection.
