Mahindra Armada Render

Latest rendering of the Mahindra Armada ignites new hopes from the past!

‘Armada’ is the Spanish word for a large fleet of armed ships that fight wars at sea. When considered in the Indian context, Armada is pure nostalgia that brings a lot of automotive memories from the 1990s. The Mahindra Armada is a part of India’s classic vintage; not due to any sophistication or style, but because of sheer sentimental value. It was a capable people mover that was based on the Mahindra Commander and Marshal that were originally based on the Willys CJ-3B.

Mahindra Armada

With 72 horsepower and 152 Nm or torque drawn from the 2.5 D 4WD Grand engine sourced from Peugeot, the Mahindra Armada MUV could do speeds well over 100kmph. Cue to 2016, and the Armada’s soul lives on in the Bolero. Well, some Armada fan has envisioned and digitally rendered a new version of the MUV. The company had replaced the Armada Grande with the Bolero long-time ago, but it seems the Armada still remains in the hearts of some people. The digitally rendered images of the Aramada were shared on a social networking site by VikramSundeep ShivaSakthi Chowdary‎.

The newly rendered images show the MUV in a new updated look keeping the core design elements intact. Dubbed as the ‘All-new Armada’, the digital render makes the Armada look identical to the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, especially in the Red livery. As compared to the actual Armada model, the render replaces the rectangle headlight units with larger round-shaped LED modules. The updated front fascia comprises of a contemporary front grille, turn indicator on the wheel arch extensions, and a thick front bumper. The render misses out on the signature ‘toothy grille’. The digitally created Armada gets a 5-door layout, with a hard top cabin cover.

The whole MUV character has been pumped up with rugged SUV-ish tyres on 5 split spoke alloy rims. There is no news or any rumour about the Armada suggesting its comeback as its successor, Bolero, has already doing good numbers for the company. Also, if at all the Armada has to come, it will have to undergo a name change that goes inline with the ‘ending with an O’ policy of Mahindra. Maybe Armado or Armada 700 (pronounced Armada Oh oh)!
