A couple of hours ago we reported about the launch details of the Royal Enfield Himalayan and new we are here to update you with another launch news; this time a four wheeler. Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch their highly anticipated compact SUV, the Vitara Brezza on March 8 at an event in Mumbai. Following its unveil at the Auto Expo held in February 2016, a top end variant of the compact SUV was spied at a dealership.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza happens to be the automaker’s first indigenously developed vehicle, with Suzuki sharing the platfrom and drive-train. For now the Vitara Brezza will be pitted with its rivals with a single diesel option only. The diesel power will be drawn from Maruti Suzuki’s 1.3 litre diesel engine also known as DDiS 200 that powers the S-Cross and Ciaz as well. The engine is equipped with common rail injection and an inter-cooled Variable Geometry Turbocharger and is capable of producing 88bhp of max power at 4,000rpm and a peak torque of 200Nm at 1,750rpm. The power will be sent to the front wheels by a 5-speed manual transmission.
In order to keep up and above with the rivals, Maruti Suzuki has provided a whole bunch of features and exclusive customisation options with the Brezza. A custom edition of the compact SUV was showcased at the Auto Expo. The company is also expected to create a spur in the price battle, due to high localisation level of 98%. The Vitara Brezza will be available in four variants – Ldi, VDi, ZDi and ZDi+. The automakers also has plans to roll out the Brezza with petrol engines and Automated manual transmission in near future. The launch is scheduled to happen on the 8th and it is about time for us to have our hands on the Brezza and get you guys with the first drive impressions and the review!
