Speaking on the occasion of the bike’s launch, Mr. Anil Dua, Sr. Vice President (Marketing & Sales), Hero Motocorp, said,     “Delivering on our commitment to bring revolutionary technologies that will transform the two-wheeler market, we have launched Splendor iSmart which is a great combination of style, performance and safety. Our customers will love the new i3S technology which makes this motorcycle truly smart, giving them more for every drop of fuel. We have applied for a patent for this technology which may be later extended to several other models.

The new iSmart’s claim to fame is its Idle Stop-Start System (i3s) feature, which allows the new bike to have an edge over its immediate rivals by helping it achieve better fuel economy. The new Idle Stop-Start system cuts off the ignition as soon as it senses that the engine has been idling for a considerable period of time. The engine restarts as soon as the i3s senses that the rider wants the bike to move. This is exactly how the new feature saves some unleaded fuel. Other than this, the bike also gets fresh body decals (can a new Hero Splendor variant possibly come without new graphics?), electric start, new instrument console and black painted alloy wheels.

Mechanically, the is same as before and is powered by the same 97.2cc, single-cylinder engine that powers other Splendor variants. This motor has a max power of 7.8 PS @ 7500 RPM and a peak torque of 8.04 Nm @ 4500 RPM.
