Hero MotoCorp Impulse Removed From Official Website, Model Permanently Discontinued?

It is believed that Hero MotoCorp is likely to have discontinued the Impulse motorcycle. While the company has not made an official announcement, they have removed the motorcycle from the official website. A few reports suggested that production of the Impulse was stalled since some time now and the company could have discontinued the model as they wouldn’t be upgrading the product to meet the upcoming BS-IV emission norms.

The Hero Motocorp Impulse sourced power from a 149.2cc engine. This single cylinder air cooled motor was tuned to produce 13.2 PS at 7500 rpm and 13.4 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. Power was sent to the rear wheel via five speed transmission.

Launched back in October 2011, the Impulse initially received a good response from the market although sales gradually began to decline. The entry level off-roader felt under-powered by enthusiasts, some of which suggested pairing of the motorcycle with the Karizma’s 223cc engine. Hero, though never gave in to the requirement.

What do you think about this move taken by Hero MotoCorp? Will the Impulse make a comeback with a larger capacity engine? Let us know your valuable views through the comments section below.
