Bajaj Pulsar RS200 - New Teaser Image - 3

One of the most anticipated motorcycles this year, the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 will be unveiled on March 26, 2015 at an event that is supposed to take place the financial capital of the country, Mumbai. But what exactly has Bajaj packed in this “Fastest Pulsar Yet”? We compile a list of things that you must know before you go ahead and buy the motorcycle. The RS nomenclature, to begin with, stands for “Race Sport”.

In terms of looks, Bajaj Pulsar is a completely new product that has been designed from ground up. The front of the motorcycle receives a full fairing, a bigger windscreen (compared to the 200NS), twin projector headlights with LED pilot lamps and LED turn indicators. Mirrors, like a typical faired motorcycle are mounted on the fairing above the headlights. The high raised clip-on handlebar is likely to make the riding stance more comfortable while the saddle will be a split seat unit. The muscular tank will have a fuel carrying capacity of 12 litres which should give the motorcycle a decent range. Tail end of the motorcycle will receive a twin-pod LED tail light.

Let’s talk about the power plant. Earlier, it was expected that the Pulsar RS200 will carry forward the same motor that powers the Pulsar 200 NS. But recently, one of our readers who sent us the fresh spy images of the Pulsar RS200, told us that a dealership has confirmed the addition of fuel injection on the motorcycle. Keeping this latest piece of information in mind, we can expect to see similar output numbers that were seen on Bajaj’s Turkish website.

The Turkey spec Bajaj Pulsar RS200 delivers 24.4 PS power at 9,500 rpm and 18.6 Nm torque at 8,000 and we expect to see similar numbers on the India spec Pulsar RS200. The Pulsar RS200, unlike the Pulsar 200NS, will not get an underbelly exhaust which is a slight disappointment. The current exhaust, however, stays closer to the centre of gravity of the motorcycle.

What has also been revealed through the official teaser video and spy images is the fact that Bajaj will equip the Pulsar RS200 with ABS that will come as an option. The ABS equipped model is likely to carry a premium of about Rs 15,000-20,000 over the standard model. Other features include a set of soft compound MRF Zapper – S tyres and steel braided brake lines.

Surprisingly, one of the spy images revealed that the adventure sport version of the Bajaj Pulsar family, the AS200, was also spotted in the factory along with the Pulsar RS200. We expect to see the adventure motorcycle reach the showrooms very soon. The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is expected to be launched between Rs 1.3-1.5 lakh price zone. The ABS variants will carry a premium over the standard model and you may have to shell out an extra Rs 15,000-20,000.
