Current Gen Maruti Suzuki Ertiga To Be Reportedly Retained And Re-Branded As ‘Ertiga Tour’

While Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the next-generation Ertiga MPV in the Indian market, reports indicate that the Indian four-wheeler manufacturer will retain the current generation model and rebrand it as the ‘Ertiga Tour’. The source report adds that the Ertiga Tour will most likely be based on the entry-level variant to cater to the demands of cab aggregators. There is no official official announcement from Maruti Suzuki about any such model at the moment.

The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Tour is expected to get a 1.4-litre petrol engine, developing 94 bhp and 130 Nm of torque a 1.3-litre Fiat Multijet diesel engine, which makes 89 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque.

Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki has been working on two new products which are expected to be launched in India by the end of the year. These two products, including the Ciaz facelift and the next generation Ertiga, have been spied during public road tests on multiple occasions. Motoring paparazzi managed to snap the photographs of the interior of the upcoming new Ertiga. Inside, the facelifted Ertiga is similar to that of the Indonesian-spec model which was unveiled earlier this year, and comes equipped with a start-stop button, climate control and wood inserts for the door panels.

The new 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has already been unveiled for the Indonesian market. For 2018, the MPV is built around the car maker’s new Heartect platform and gets a all-new fascia with projector headlights, new fog lamps, chrome grille, and a new bumper. Other features includes, new alloy wheels, smart entry and electric and foldable mirror with integrated turn signals.

Mechanically, the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is expected to be offered with a new 1.5-litre petrol engine that has been developed in-house by the company. Apart from the new petrol engine, Maruti Suzuki will also offer the 1.3-litre Fiat sourced Multijet diesel engine. An all new 1.5-litre diesel motor is likely to make its way to the MPV later next year.
