Benelli MotoBi-250 Patagonian Eagle Quarter-Litre Cruiser Snapped In India

It was only yesterday (August 11, 2017) when we got you the first images of Benelli’s quarter-litre Zafferano 250 scooter being tested in India. While there is no official statement about the launch of the maxi-scooter, we expect to hear some details at the 2018 Auto Expo. Meanwhile, another Benelli product has been snapped in India courtesy motoring portal IAB. Previously, it was speculated that Benelli will bring its Keeway Blackster 250 cruiser to India but that never happened.

This time, it’s Benelli’s quarter-litre cruiser motorcycle, the MotoBi-250 Patagonian Eagle that was seen on the Indian roads. The motorcycle, just like the Zafferano 250, is available in select markets and is priced at IDR 35,600,000 (approximately INR 1.7 lakh) on road in Indonesia.

The cruiser motorcycle uses a parallel twin engine. The 251.8cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine is tuned to deliver 17.6 PS maximum of power @ 8,000 rpm and 16.5 Nm of peak torque @ 6,000 rpm and is paired to a 5-speed transmission. Visually, it features a spherical, single-pod headlight, and typical cruiser motorcycle design traits. Although, instead of wire-spoked wheels, this one will ride on alloy wheels. Pillion comfort will be enhanced by a massive backrest at the rear.

As aforementioned, we’re yet to hear an official statement about the launch of the quarter-litre cruiser. The MotoBi-250 Patagonian Eagle, if priced aggressively, will give a tough time to the current crop of cruiser motorcycles, namely the Royal Enfield Thunderbird, Bajaj Avenger and the UM range. We hope to hear an announcement about the new Benelli motorcycles at the 2018 Auto Expo unless the brand surprises us with an early notification. We’d keep you posted.
