Quarter-Litre Benelli Zafferano 250 Scooter Spied In India

Update: Fresh Image

DSK-Benelli India is expected to expand its product portfolio. The Italian two-wheeler brand will reportedly launch it’s Leoncino scrambler by the end of 2017. While we’re yet to hear any official announcement on that front, another product from the brand was photographed in India.

Benelli is likely to try its hands on the premium scooter market as a test mule of the quarter-litre Zafferano 250 was recently spotted testing in Pune, India. Photographs of the maxi-scooter were first published by motoring portal TeamBHP. The scooter is already available in select South-East Asian markets. and is priced at IDR 45,550,000 in Indonesia. The amount roughly translates to INR 2.18 lakh.

The quarter-litre scooter draws 21PS of maximum power @ 7,000 rpm and 20.83 Nm of peak torque from its 249.7cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, fuel injected engine. Other features includes twin-pod headlight, a semi-digital instrument console, 12-litre fuel tank, tall windscreen, dual disc brakes upfront and single disc at the rear, a telescopic suspension, upfront and adjustable shock absorber at the rear and 14-inch alloy wheels. The storage space is big enough to accommodate two helmets.

DSK-Benelli India has remained tight-lipped about any further details about the maxi-scooter. We’re unlikely to see the Zafferano 250 arrive in the Indian market in 2017. We may hear some more details about the maxi-scooter at the 2018 Auto Expo.
