Kawasaki Commercial Shoot Spied Feature Image

All-New 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 400 Spotted During Commercial Shoot In Harley-Davidson’s Backyard

Contrary to various rumours, the previous generation Kawasaki Ninja 400 never made it to the Indian shores and the new generation model is not likely to arrive anytime soon either. Irrespective of its possible arrival in India, the motorcycle was snapped during a commercial shoot in Harley-Davidson’s backyard, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The motorcycles came into news after Kawasaki shut down the North Avenue between Cramer and Prospect in Milwaukee for about an hour to shoot the commercial for the new generation model.

The previous generation Ninja 400R was a scaled down Ninja 650R. This one, however, features a conventional side mounted exhaust and, in our opinion, looks more like the Ninja 300. We’re not sure what’s really brewing here and we’ll wait for some more concrete details about the new generation Ninja 400 before making any comments. From what we could see in the video, the new 2017 Ninja 400 gets muscular styling along with the new Kawasaki Racing Team livery.

In case you missed it before, here’s the review of:

Visually, the design is sharper than the previous generation model and, as aforementioned, we can see ZX-10R inspired styling cues, along with the KRT livery. Hardware list, as seen in the video, includes conventional telescopic front suspension, clip-on handlebars and what appears to be a ZX-10R inspired LED tail light.

Mechanically, the previous generation model was powered by a Liquid-cooled DOHC 8-valve 399 cc Parallel Twin fuel injector motor, tuned to deliver 44 PS @ 9500 rpm and peak torque at 37 Nm @ 7500 rpm. The new generation model, with a Euro 4 compliant motor, may deliver a marginally lower output.

The possibility of the new model arriving to Indian shores is quite less. Honestly, we’re more curious about the Kawasaki Versys-X 250 as it’d give Indian buyers more options in the entry-level adventure touring motorcycle segment.
