Honda 2 Wheelers India has silently launched the 2018 CB Hornet 160R in the country, with prices starting at INR 84,675 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The model, which was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, will be available in four variants including STD, CBS, ABS STD and ABS DLX.
Compared to the outgoing model, the new 2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R features styling updates, full LED headlamps and ABS, with the latter being available as an optional feature. Honda also offers a fully digital instrument console, which now features a blue backlight, redesigned decals, hazard light and an X shaped LED tail light.
Based on the same diamond-type chassis as its predecessor, the new Honda CB Hornet 160R features telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock suspension at the rear. Braking duties on the model are taken care of by a 276mm petal type disc brake at the front while the rear features a 130 mm drum unit as standard and a 220 mm petal disc available as an option.

Braking is handled by a single 276 mm petal type disc in the front with either a 130 mm drum or 220 petal type disc brake in the rear. Honda offers a single channel ABS on the CB Hornet 160R as an optional feature.
Powering the 2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R is the same 162cc single cylinder, air cooled engine. This motor is capable of producing 14.9 hp at 8500 rpm and 14.5 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a five speed unit. In India, the 2018 Honda CB Hornet 160R will rival the new TVS Apache RTR 160, Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 and the Suzuki Gixxer.
