These are the first official images of the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback that’s headed to North America, and due to arrive in dealerships by September. The US version Civic is manufactured and exported from Honda’s UK manufacturing base in Swindon.
The tenth generation Civic Hatchback was previewed by its concept that was presented earlier this year during the Geneva Auto Show. As expected, its visuals draw heavily from the concept, and in spite of being toned down for production, the new Civic Hatchback looks particularly delectable. The swooping rear window, the prominent spoiler, the center-exit exhausts, and the sharp, C-shaped LED tail lamps make it quite the poser from the back.
Based on a new platform shared with the sedan, the new Civic hatchback will be available in LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Sport Touring trims in the US; all packing the same drive-train – a 1.5-litre, turbocharged, in-line-4 cylinder petrol engine good for 174 horsepower and paired with a six-speed manual transmission, while a CVT will be optional on some trims.
Equipment on offer will inlcude the Honda Sensing suite of safety technology, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, optional LED headlights, amongst others. In North America, the 2017 Civic Hatchback will join the four-door sedan version that was launched there in late 2015, and also received the North American Car of the Year award.
