Beautifully bare Kawasaki W800 launched in Indonesia for INR 13 lakhs

W800 Limited Edition Ebony Black (2)

PT Kawasaki Motor Indonesia (KMI) has launched the Kawasaki W800 at the ongoing, 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). Prices for the retro classic motorcycle range from IDR 249 million (approximately INR 12.72 lakhs) for the standard edition to IDR 251 million (approximately INR 12.82 lakhs) for the special edition.

The Kawasaki W800’s appearance harks back to the basics of motorcycling, with retro styling highlights that include a circular headlamp, a classic, tear-drop shaped fuel tank, a ribbed seat, chromed fenders and mirrors, along with large diameter spoke wheels. The cycle parts are tastefully done up in black. The W800 comes with telescopic front suspension and twin coil spring rear shock absorbers. While the front wheel gets a disc brake, the rear makes do with a drum brake.

At the Kawasaki W800’s heart lies a 773 cc, air-cooled, parallel twin engine rated at 48 PS of power and mated to a  5-speed transmission. The standard edition features an Ocean Blue paint job while the special edition gets an Ebony Black paint job with white stripes. Only 50 units of the Kawasaki W800 are allotted for Indonesia, with 40 of them being the special editions. The W800 will be imported into Indonesia as a CBU.
