The BMW G310R is reportedly scheduled for India launch in October 2016. The motorcycle is currently undergoing pre-launch tests and has been spotted on various occasions. This upcoming BMW was earlier caught testing, completely undisguised, on the Krishnagiri – Bangalore Highway. Now, the a clear set of spy images of the motorcycle have surfaced courtesy Deepak thavaselvam and Gautham Athanki from Chennai Bike Riders.

Based on their conversation with the test riders, the duo suggest that the BMW G310R will return a fuel economy of around 25 to 28 KMPL. The top speed is said to be around 170 kmph which is quite close to the BMW’s nearest rival in the Indian market, the KTM 390 Duke. The motorcycle will also sport TVS and BMW logos together. The motorcycle in the images, however, was said to be the international version and the Indian version will have some slight modifications.

Mechanically, the motorcycle will come equipped with a 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves and two overhead camshafts together with electronic fuel injection. The 80 mm bore and the 62.1 mm stroke develops a praiseworthy 34 hp of power at 9,500 rpm and 28Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. Rumour mill also suggests that the Indo-German duo will introduce a fully faired version of the motorcycle in the future.

As reported earlier, the new G310R will be completely developed by BMW in Munich and manufactured by TVS Motors in India. Local production would help BMW launch the motorcycle at highly competitive prices for the Indian market. Will it undercut the KTM 390 Duke? That does not seem likely. The BMW G310R is expected to carry a price tag in the range of Rs 2.5 to 3.0 lakh (ex-showroom).
