2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 And Z900 Sans Accessories Launched In India

Kawasaki has launched the new 2017 Ninja 1000 in India with prices starting at INR 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Moreover, with the increasing competition in the middleweight motorcycle segment, the Japanese two-wheeler maker has introduced the Z900 without the accessories to sell it at a more competitive price tag. So the Z900, sans the additional accessories, has been priced aggressively at INR 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom) instead of INR 9 lakh (ex-showroom) with accessories. The accessory package included the windscreen, 12V charging socket , radiator guard, crash bobbins, tank pad and the rear cowl.

Apart from that, there are no changes to the Z900. Mechanically, The Z900 uses a 948cc inline four-cylinder, liquid cooled engine which is a re-bored version of the Z1000. The engine is tuned to produce 125hp of power @ 9,500 rpm, which is a good 12hp above the Z800, and 98Nm of torque @ 7,700 rotations. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and features assist and slipper clutch.

The new 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000, on the other hand, is a massive leap over the previous model. Apart from a Euro4 compliant motor, the new Ninja 1000 features an updated design and new electronic rider aids. Visual upgrades will include sharper fascia with a wider fairing, adjustable windscreen and two-pod LED headlight. The new headlight setup is claimed to deliver even better performance in the dark. Mechanically, the Ninja 1000 uses a 1043cc in-line 4-cylinder engine tuned to deliver 140 bhp of power @ 10,000 rpm and 111Nm of torque @ 7,300 rpm.

As aforementioned, Kawasaki has launched the new 2017 Ninja 1000 at INR 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Z900, sans the additional accessories, has been priced at INR 7.68 lakh (ex-showroom) which makes it about INR 80,000 cheaper than the recently launched Triumph Street Triple S and about INR 9,000 below the newly arrived Ducati Monster 797.
