Swedish automobile manufacturer Volvo will bring its performance oriented brand ‘Polestar’ to India soon. The introduction of the brand will take place with the launch of the S60 Polestar sedan which is scheduled to take place on April 14, 2017.
Based on the top-end T6 trim, the S60 Polestar will become the range topping trim after its launch. Visual differences that would differentiate the standard S60 from the S60 Polestar would be a new body kit and 20 inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Volvo S60 Polestar will come with sport seats up-front, leather upholstery and carbon fibre trim inserts that would replace the wood or aluminium inserts as seen on the regular trims. A few mechanical upgrades will include larger brakes, stiffer suspension setup and a bigger turbocharger.
The Volvo S60 Polestar will source power from a 2.0-litre, four cylinder, turbocharged and supercharged petrol engine that is tuned to produce 362 bhp and 470 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by an eight speed automatic transmission. This powertrain will enable the S60 Polestar to sprint from 0-100 kmph in 4.7 seconds all the way up to an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. Once launched in India, the Volvo S60 Polestar will rival the Mercedes-AMG C43, Audi S5 and the BMW M3.
