Volkswagen India has become one of the first companies in India to receive the latest International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 9001:2015 certificate, which was released nearly three months ago.

At the beginning of December 2015, TÜV India and TÜV Nord Group conducted a three-day audit at the Volkswagen Pune Plant to check all the related processes of car production and engine assembly. The audit was self-initiated by the Quality Assurance department of Volkswagen India to pursue its commitment towards adherence of quality and customer satisfaction. With the successful completion of the audit, Volkswagen India became the first company within the Volkswagen Group worldwide to be certified ISO 9001:2015.

The ISO 9001:2015 was recently released by International Organisation for Standardisation with updates that emphasize on risk based management. The new updates to the certification also include a closer focus on the automotive sector with process approach & organisational issues.

Dr. Andreas Lauermann, President and Managing Director, Volkswagen India Private Limited, said that the efforts of the teams at Pune Plant have paid off well with the recognition of the latest ISO 9001:2015 certification adding further credibility to the company.

The Volkswagen Group is represented by five passenger car brands in India – Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Skoda, and Volkswagen. The Volkswagen Group has been present in India for the last 14 years and began its India journey with the entry of the Skoda brand in 2001.
