The upcoming Bajaj Kratos VS400 (formerly known as the Pulsar CS400) continues to be tested. In the last few months, prototypes of the VS400 have been chased on at least a couple of occasions on the Pune-Bengaluru highway, once by an optimistic Yamaha YZF-R15 rider who thought he could keep up, and another time by an excited KTM Duke 200 rider who gave chase but to no avail. This time around, a Bajaj Kratos VS400 prototype found its match in a Yamaha YZF-R3 that gave it chase on the same highway.

While the Yamaha YZF-R3’s 321-cc twin cylinder engine is good for  41.4 bhp at 10750 rpm and 29.6 Nm of torque at 9000 rpm, the Kratos VS400 is powered by a 373.2-cc single cylinder, liquid cooled engine that’s capable of producing 35 Bhp at 8,000 rpm (torque output is yet to be revealed). Both motorcycles come equipped with a 6-speed transmission. Other notable  features on the VS400 will include – full-LED headlamps (a first for an Indian motorcycle), split, fully digital instrument cluster, mono-shock at the rear, and ABS (most probably an optional feature). The VS400 is expected to be priced at around INR 1.5-1.8 Lakhs.
