Vespa 75th Edition Launched; Starts At ₹1.25 Lakh

Vespa has been an iconic brand and is loved and cherished by Indian consumers since its launch in India in 1948 which was just two years after its inception. Incidentally, India was the first country where a Vespa scooter was exported from Italy by the Piaggio group. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Vespa brand which was introduced by Rinaldo Piaggio in the year 1946 in Italy. To commemorate the occasion, Vespa has launched a limited edition of the Vespa VXL namely the Vespa 75th Edition.

75th Edition – What’s Different?

While the Vespa 75th edition is based on the currently sold VXL, it gets some major cosmetic changes. However, mechanical changes are close to none. The 75th Edition retains the full steel monocoque body and gets an exclusive glossy metallic Giallo 75th- an original metallic yellow colourway. The number 75 on the side panels and the front bumper is displayed in matt metallic pyrite color which matches the front tie with chrome inserts, along with it the Chrome 75th Logo on the glove box. The scooter also gets an exclusive Nobuk leather seat in a dark grey theme. To reminisce the tail-mounted spare wheel, the 75th Edition gets a specially curated accessory bag made in the same materials as the seat. The bag can be mounted on the tail rack and be removed when not required. There is also a front windshield mounted on top of the headlamps. The wheels are machined alloys finished in grey colour.

Powertrain and Price

The Vespa 75th Edition is based on the VXL and is offered in the same powertrains. The 125 gets the 124CC 4-stroke air-cooled engine that puts out 9.92 PS power and 9.6 Nm torque and is priced at ₹1,25,996/- ex-showroom Delhi. The 150 gets a 149CC 4-stroke air-cooled engine that puts out 10.47 PS power and 10.06 Nm torque and is priced at ₹1,39,090/- ex-showroom Delhi. This price is approx. ₹15,000 higher than the regular Vespa VXL.
