Honda unnecessarily teases US-spec 2015 Honda Fit. Slated for Detroit debut
Even though we all know how the third-generation Honda Fit aka Jazz looks like, Honda has released a teaser image of the US-spec Fit. The Fit will make its North America debut at Detroit Auto Show next month and will go on sale in the country as a 2015 model.
We feel that there won’t be much of a difference between the JDM (Japanese Domestic Model) JDM Fit and the upcoming US-spec model.
The third-generation Honda Fit continues with sporting small minivan proportions and comes with a sharper front end that consists of thinner headlights and a bolder grill.
The insides too have been completely redesigned and bring in a plethora of new features. While engine options for the US Spec car are unknown, the JDM model comes with three engine options: 1.3-liter with 100PS of max power, 1.5-liter with 132PS of max power and a hybrid variant that comes with a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine.
The hybrid variant comes with the carmaker’s new Sport Hybrid Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive (i-DCD) system that consists of a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox with a high-output motor, and an IPU that consists of lithium-ion battery.
The U.S. market Fit will be produced at carmaker’s new Celaya plant in Mexico.
