Updated 2014 Volkswagen Polo India launch soon; more images surface

Unlike what was we were expecting, Volkswagen India didn’t showcase the 2014 Volkswagen Polo facelift at the  Auto Expo 2014. The updated Volkswagen Polo is likely to have its public debut at the fast approaching Geneva Motor Show next month, soon after which the car maker is likely to commence the sales. The Polo facelift 2014 boasts of a many minor changes, all of which work together to bestow the ageing car with a sense of freshness. At the car’s front fasica, one car find set of new headlights, a slightly revised grille and a revised bumper. While the Europe spec car might get the Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), Indian model might be devoid of these, at least for the entry and mid level variants. At the read end, the Polo facelift gets redesigned taillights, along with a different registration plate housing and reflectors for the rear bumper.

On the inside, the India spec Polo facelift is expected to remain significantly unchanged. However, we might get to see an upholstery change and some near features.

It is being said that the launch of the Polo facelift could in India could happen along with that of the new diesel engine. This engine is basically a downsized iteration of the Vento’s 1.6 litres motor. Other motors would be carried over, unchanged.
