It has emerged that various Porsche dealership across the country have shown the new, updated 2014 Porsche Panamera to select audience. It is being said that the facelifted Panamera, which was unveiled only sometime back, is close to being launched in India.

The only 4 door saloon from Porsche gets a range of updates for the 2014 Model Year (MY). The updated 2014 Porsche Panamera carries a new front fascia that comes with revised set of headlamps and revised bumper. Other changes to the car include a new tailgate, larger vents and new LED tail lights. The car also gets LED headlights as an option.

The Porsche Panamera also gets an updated, Audi-sourced 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine that comes mated to a revised version of the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine now produces a healthy 298 PS @4000 rpm and offers 405 lb-ft to 479 lb-ft of torque between 1750 and 2500 rpm. Porsche has shortened the eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox’s first four ratios for a quicker 0-100 sprint. (The 2014 Porsche Panamera Diesel dimisses the 0 to 100 kmph  mark in just 6 seconds and is 0.8 seconds faster than its predecessor). The new Panamera Diesel also receives Porsche’s advanced torque vectoring system which includes a new electric differential lock. With the new engine, the top speed of this 4-door sports saloon has also increased by 14 kmph and now touches the 259kmph mark on the speedo. Claimed economy remains the same at 44mpg, while CO2 emissions rise a from 166 g/km to 169 g/km.
