According to the motoring portal, the engine would be a 155cc unit. What it means for the customer is that the model would produce a higher power and torque output as compared to the current 150cc motor. It is believed that the motor will produce a power output in the range of 18-20 hp while the peak torque could be bumped up to 17-18 Nm. This engine would continue to send power to the wheel via a six speed gearbox.

Suspension duties are expected to be performed by an upside down forks upfront. The Japanese bike maker is also likely to equip the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R15 with ABS (in view of the upcoming safety norms in India). Also on offer would be a lowered pillion seat, taking cue from the M-Slaz. Expect a sharper dual headlight design divided by a faux air intake. The exhaust seen on the rendered image also seems to have been inspired from the YZF-R125 and the YZF-R6.
