Upcoming Next Gen Tata Winger Spied in Pune

The next generation Tata Winger has been spied by an IAB reader in Pune, Maharashtra. According to IAB, the next generation Winger model will use the Renault Master’s platform. These spyshots show a  left-hand drive Winger test mule.

According to our IAB, Tata Motors will be launching the new gen Winger in late 2014. Tata will continue to sell the current gen Winger (giving it a minor facelift) along with the new gen, while positioning the new gen Winger as a more luxurious version.

Speaking about the powertrain of the nex gen model, Tata may use the 2.0 liter TCIC motor which produces 90 bhp of max power and 190 Nm of torque, for the base variant Winger. The 3.0 liter engine from the Sumo could make it into the Winger, which produces 70 PS and 223 Nm of peak torque in the BS3 spec, and 85 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque in the BS4 spec.

the Tata Winger is currently available with 3 seating configurations- 9+D, 12+D and 13+D. The next gen is expected to have different seating configurations.

The new gen Winger will be pitted against the upcoming MPV from Force Motors, which uses the Mercedes-Benz Viano platform.
