The new 2015 Ford F-150 is based on the Atlas concept and the new vehicle’s exterior design can be termed as evolutionary rather than revolutionary. The new truck borrows plenty of design and styling cues from the 2015 F-Series Super Duty and as a result, sports an upright front fascia that consists of a huge grille and a set of distinctive headlights. Other design highlights include a stylish green house, flared wheel arches and an integrated spoiler for the tailgate.
On the inside, the car boasts of several high quality bits and modern features such as- SYNC, MyFord Touch and an 8-inch “productivity screen” in the instrument cluster. The car also gets features such as a rear view camera, trailer brake controller, a 360-degree camera system and high-wattage power outlets. One of the biggest features on the new F-150 is a bed with integrated loading ramps and a “smart trailer tow module” which can “inform the driver of potential trailer connectivity issues including burned or unlit trailer marker lamps, and brake light and trailer battery faults.” The 2015 Ford F-150 also gets trailer hitch assist, LED bed lights, a remote tailgate and a BoxLink system that consists of metal brackets and custom cleats for securing cargo.
The new 2015 F-150 boasts of a fully boxed ladder frame that is built from high-strength steel. This makes the latest iteration of F-150 “stronger and lighter” than the outgoing model. Also, thanks to high usage of aluminum components, the new F-150 weighs as much as 700 lbs (317 kg) less than the outgoing model.
