A Black Sapphire BMW M4 coupe showcased at North America International Auto Show

Only few hours back, we reported that the new BMW M4 has been caught roaming in downtown Detroit ahead of its NAIAS debut! Now, a set of pics of a Black Sapphire BMW M4 2014, which has been showcased at the motor show, have surfaced on the web world.

Powering the new BMW M4 2014 BMW M4 coupe is an inline-six TwinPower Turbocharged 3.0-liter petrol engine that belts out 431 really healthy horses and has a fuel efficiency of 26.7 mpg in US cycle. A part of the higher fuel efficiency can be attributed to various weight-saving measures that have been taken on the new BMW M4. For instance, the CFRP roof helps the coupe to shed as much as 6 kgs.

The 2014 BMW M4 coupe’s suspension sports revised MacPherson strut at front and an updated multi-link rear suspension at the rear. The suspension uses several lightweight components which help reduce unsprung masses and increase the rigidity. The new 2014 BMW M4 rides on 18-inch alloy wheels shod with 255/40 front and 275/40 rear tires.

The BMW M4 boasts of 0-100kmph figure of 4.1 seconds (with optional 7-speed M DCT) and a top speed of 250kmph. The M Driver’s Package raises the limit to 174 mph (280 kmph).

The aforementioned seven-speed M DCT comes with launch control and a “smokey burnout” mode that allows a certain degree of wheel spin at low speeds. Stopping power will come from standard compound brakes or optional lighter BMW M carbon ceramic brakes.

The new BMW M4 Coupe will be assembled in Munich and will go on sale later this year.
