Italian bike manufacturer Benelli unveiled the Tornado 302, its second faired bike after the Tornado 1130 which was launched quite a long time ago, more than 10 years ago if you ask. This product, based on the TNT 300 would be an ideal full faired entry level bike for beginners or the members of the younger age groups.
The bike is powered by the same 300 cc in-line 2-cylinder, 4-stroke engine as the TNT 300 but is tuned to suit the upcoming bike which now has a peak power output of 35 PS at 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 26 Nm at 9000 rpm. The transmission, a 6 speed gearbox from the TNT 300 is carried over as well. The under-belly exhaust is shed for an aluminium single exhaust pipe with twin ports. The fuel tank capacity is limited to 14 litres. The Tornado 302 measures 2175 mm in length, 746 mm in width and 1146 mm in height, the latter two excluding the mirrors. The ground clearance stands at 180 mm while the wheelbase measures 1410 mm.
Looks, although subjective seem to be convincing for this upcoming model. Seen in the images is the Tornado 302 painted in white with bits of red colour around the body which is not only limited to the body graphics but is also visible on the steel trestle frame of this bike. The headlamp setup looks smaller due to the fairing but still gives an aggressive stance to the overall looks of the Tornado 302. The small but apt windscreen adds to the aesthetic appeal of the bike.
