The TVS Apache series has always had a special place in our hearts. The Apache RTR160 4V is also a part of this list, as it closely resembles its 200cc sibling in many ways, and is aimed to compete in the 155-160cc segment, against rivals like Yamaha FZ-S, Honda CB Hornet 160R and Suzuki Gixxer. The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is available in 3 colours: Racing Red, Racing Black and Racing Blue. The base variant of the bike is priced at Rs 82,145 and the top variant is priced at Rs 98,851 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Let’s have a look at the top 5 features, which make this bike so interesting:
Super-Moto Single-Channel ABS
The Apache RTR 160 4V is equipped with a single-channel Super-Moto ABS Unit which has been developed and tested on the track. This system gives the bike ultimate braking control while providing sharp feedbacks. The Super-Moto ABS is a precise system, which is specially built to take razor-sharp turns with ease and have full control over the vehicle.
The RTR 160 4V is fitted with a patented Oil-Cooled Combustion Chamber (O3C) Technology with a ram-air assist that reduces the engine heat map by an exceptional 10℃ while delivering high-revving performance with uncompromised durability. The lightweight nano friks-coated piston delivers a high-revving engine with linear throttle response and increased engine life. The bike is also fitted with a dual-barrel exhaust, which is developed using unique sound engineering techniques. The exhaust is made from bare stainless steel that provides the RTR 160 4V with a low-frequency sound that urges you to rev the engine harder.
Race Inspired Split Cradle Chassis
The double-cradle split synchro stiff chassis used in the RTR 160 4V, is engineered to give an optimized vehicle layout, thereby increasing the stability of the bike by over 25%. The chassis also gets a monotube floating piston shock absorber at the rear, which is precisely-tuned for compression and rebound damping, to achieve an excellent dynamic response and perfect track balance. In terms of tyres, the RTR 160 4V gets 2 tyre options: The grippy Remora tyres or the race-spec Pirelli tyres which provide additional track-focused performance.
Fully Digital Tachometer
The RTR 160 4V will always greet you with an alpha-numeric message on its race-inspired, fully digital Speedo/Tachometer. The Tachometer also gets informative functions like a lap timer, 0-60 timer, top-speed recorder, etc.
