The Toyota Fortuner has been around for a while now, and there’s an all-new one due soon. To get some desirability  back to the good ol’ T Fort, Toyota of South Africa have launched a limited edition with a few cosmetic changes, and they’re calling it the Epic! So what’s new here?
The popular SUV has been revised subtly with the front-end gaining smoky treatment to the headlights, teardrop-shaped chromed bezels surrounding the front fog lights and a new chromed nudge bar with the words EPIC etched on it. All outer mirrors are now chromed, as opposed to colour-coded before.
Bringing up the rear are new tail lamps, once again with blacked-out detailing, mirroring the front units. The existing 17-inch alloy wheels have been resprayed in dark-grey, providing further visual differentiation. Adding functionality to the rear, Epic models get a tow-bar as well as a rear sill protector to make loading bulky objects just that little bit easier.
The Epic edition will be applied to 50% of the next two months of production of all the 3.0 D-4D and 4.0 V6 derivatives (yeah, we don’t get one here) built at Toyota’s Prospecton plant in Durban, South Africa. Toyota India, we could do with one. What do you guys think?
