Tata Tiago Sunburst Orange (1)

Have you heard of the quote – ‘Good things in life, take a little extra time’? Well if you have not, then you just read it. The latest product by Tata Motors has just proved the quote above. It took time for the compact hatchback to reach the showrooms, but the wait seems to be worth it. The Tata Tiago has proven to be one of the most successful vehicles by being the best selling Tata car in the month of April. Based on the all-new IMPACT design philosophy, the Tiago has demonstrated its impact on the market share with its sales figures beating the figures made by its Indica cousins combined. Reportedly, Tata sold 3,022 units of the Tiago in the month of April.

Previously, the Tata Tiago was introduced by the Indian automaker last year as the Tata Zica. The name, then, had a peppy feel to it as it was derived from the words Zippy Car, but very little it knew about the forthcomings. Due to unavoidable reasons, the car had to be rebranded and finally in the month of April this year the Tata Tiago was officially launched in India with prices beginning from INR 3.39 Lakhs. As mentioned earlier, the hatchback has received a well-earned response from the customers and is already on its way to their homes.

The Tiago is made available in both Petrol and diesel options with the petrol power coming from a 1.2 litre Revotron engine and the diesel twist comes from the newly developed 1.0 litre Revotorq engine. These units are strapped with a 5-speed manual gearbox but an AMT kit will be offered soon. Peak petrol power stands at 83 Bhp while the max torque at 114 Nm. The diesel engine makes  69 Bhp and 120 Nm of torque.
