Hyundai recently celebrated 20 years of its foundation in India. Exactly two decades ago, HMIL laid the foundation for its factory in India and began operations on September 1998 by commissioning its first integrated car manufacturing plant outside Korea. For their celebratory occasion, the automaker plans to introduce two special editions of their Xcent and i10 Grand. These editions will be packed with more features and will retail at no extra cost.

On the occasion, top tier officials spilt the beans of the company’s future plans and gave a few insides of what the plans would be like. Previously, the company was reported to reach more customers by launching two new products every year. Next year, the company is all set to introduce its soft hybrid automobiles in the Indian market. In 2018, the company will introduce Automated Manual Transmission tech in their Indian product line-up. With a mission to introduce the convenience of an automatic transmission without compromising on the fuel efficiency, the AMT kit was further extended to various different segments of Maruti Suzuki.

The technology was also picked up by various other manufacturers, who then kitted their products with the automated transmission. The transmission tech not only provided customers with convenience but also bumped up the sales of their models. Hyundai Motor India plans to do the same by getting their AMT equipped engines to the Indian product portfolio. Last week, automatic version of the Hyundai Creta was rolled out by the automaker. Moving forward, Hyundai India will bring the Carolina sub-4 metre, 1000 cc compact SUVin 2019 that will likely be based on the Carlino concept unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo.
