The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor was no slouch, but that hasn’t stopped Shelby from sprinkling some of their pixie dust on the mean looking pick-up. Called the Shelby Baja 700, this Dakar ready off-roader is buit upon Raptors manufactured between 2011 to 2014. Only 50 will be made and each one is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that pumps out 700 hp. The tuner has achieved that number by fitting a new 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger, larger throttle body, a new heat exchanger and a Borla exhaust system.
To make it fly on all kinds of surfaces, the Baja 700 has been fitted with 3-inch King coilovers, Rogue racing upper and lower control arms and 18-inch wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich K02 off-road tyres. Distinctive Cobra stripes and badging make the Baja stand out further, along with custom interiors and optional auxiliary lighting. Each example is priced at $45,000 – over and above the price of the donor vehicle, which retails for about the same amount of money.
